The original structure, built in 1927, was an old historic farmhouse that was in poor condition. The homeowner needed to maintain the historicity and critical features of the original structure, while conducting a complete rebuild of the old historic farmhouse.
The project was designed to bring back to life a beautiful home with modern conveniences, while maintaining the historical features of the original structure. The interior was executed in a contemporary design as a juxtaposition against the historical exterior. The interior wall siding utilized within the upstairs bathroom and bedrooms were original reclaimed wood from an old barn located on the property.
The majority of the upstairs doors are original to the construction of the home. The homeowner wanted to reuse the original doors for the upstairs. Each door is unique in size so each opening had to be customized to fit the profile of each unique door.
